The AB-Solution User Interface (UI) does not need to run continuously for AB-Solution to block ads or run other services you may have enabled, such as the weekly stats report.
The UI is mainly used for installation and changing settings.
Starting the UI is as simple as entering ./ab-solution.sh (or ab-solution, see Starting the UI) into the terminal.
During startup, AB-Solution does a series of tests to verify the installation. Most common errors are detected and fixed in silent mode in the background while doing the "check installation state".
The full version number is also shown in brackets. In the UI, entering s shows more about your installed version.
When logging is enabled, the ads counters are updated to the latest count and the state of the various services is read in from the configuration file.
Then the UI is loaded.
